did buy this. And I am thoroughly enjoying it. It's the
only thing I have by them. My best friend Jen likes them a lot
and I always enjoyed what she played for me, but I never really cared
that much. So this came out and I started hearing clips of 'Soul
Meets Body' and I couldn't help but go to work on my day off and buy
it. It's really great. 'Soul Meets Body,' 'I Will Follow
You Into the Dark,' and 'Brothers on a Hotel Bed' are the best.
'I Will Follow You Into the Dark' is ridiculous. I had made a
promise to myself that I would stop buying music that I knew would be
overly romantic, but this song is perfect. And it's nice to
appreciate that something is spectacular and not get all bent out of
shape about it. So that's nice.
Also amazingly nice is
'Lifeblood' by Manic Street Preachers, which I finally ordered.
They still haven't released it here, but I got it on half.com so I'm
satisfied. It's really amazing. I put it on for the first
time while I was eating breakfast and I wasn't blown away -- it's a
little glossy or something,
but I think that's what they were going for. "Elegiac pop music."
'Solitude Sometimes Is' and 'Fragments' are 100% ridiculously
gorgeous.
If they never tour America again, I will consider my life unlived.
