The fact that someone proposed to his girlfriend on stage didn't help things. Their new album comes out next month and I read all the lyrics last night, muttering expletives to myself the entire time because it's that motherfucking good. And that's all I really have to say about that. Good night and sweet dreams. 2006-01-11 01:36:18 GMT http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/153 I finally bought David Gray's new album yesterday, and I am really impressed.  The lyrics are suprisingly good.  I've always liked David Gray, but more for the fact that he is so goddamned romantic than anything else.  I always thought that lyrically he didn't do very much.  But the lyrics on this are his best, I think.  Musically, it's not really anything new, but it's re http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/122 I finally bought David Gray's new album yesterday, and I am really impressed.  The lyrics are suprisingly good.  I've always liked David Gray, but more for the fact that he is so goddamned romantic than anything else.  I always thought that lyrically he didn't do very much.  But the lyrics on this are his best, I think.  Musically, it's not really anything new, but it's really gorgeous.  'Life in Slow Motion' and 'Ain't No Love' are the 2 that I've been listening to over and over and over again. Good stuff. Congratulations David Gray.  Also, he's not getting any uglier. Now, should anyone ever stumble across this blog who has read Dante's Divine Comedy, I implore you, and will pay you!, to give me a paper topic about Purgatorio.  It only has to be about 1200 words, but I'm having a rough time coming up with a topic for some reason.  And it's due Tuesday.  And I'm just not feeling it.Speaking of life after death, I took a quiz today and it said that in a past life I was a famous sailor from West Africa and I died while I was an infant.  What an ambitious infant I was! To become a famous sailor while I was still a baby! I definitely did not retain any of that determination in this life.  How do you become a famous sailor, anyway? It didn't say that I discovered anything.  Maybe I was a famous sailor just because I was an infant sailor. That's pretty hilarious. 2005-10-30 22:34:25 GMT http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/122 Bono, Bono, Bono.  Now he's pegged to win the Nobel Prize!  Well, good for him, I say.  I am personally in love with Bono.  If anyone reads this, they're probably grimacing, but I'll stand up for him.  He may seem a little obnoxious, but atleast he's using all the fame and ridiculous amounts of money he has to do some good, or to try to at least.  And he http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/94 Bono, Bono, Bono. And he doesn't just throw money around; he goes to Africa and to talk to the president so at least he's doing something, I guess.  He does seem genuine.  Should he win the Nobel Peace Prize?  I don't know.  But if they don't give it to him, they should give an honorary prize to his now deceased mullet-of-the-century.  If the mullet makes the man, then there has never been a man like Bono.  2005-10-03 19:18:05 GMT http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/94 Orange Juice - The Glasgow School Josef K - Young and Stupid Sigur Ros - Takk new David Gray Clientele - Strange Geometry Echo and the Bunnymen Jesus & Mary Chain - Darklands http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/86 Orange Juice - The Glasgow School Josef K - Young and Stupid Sigur Ros - Takk new David Gray Clientele - Strange Geometry Echo and the Bunnymen Jesus & Mary Chain - Darklands 2005-09-22 19:54:56 GMT http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/86 I did buy this.  And I am thoroughly enjoying it.  It's the only thing I have by them.  My best friend Jen likes them a lot and I always enjoyed what she played for me, but I never really cared that much.  So this came out and I started hearing clips of 'Soul Meets Body' and I couldn't help but go to work on my day off and buy it.  It's really great.  http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/93 I did buy this. 'Soul Meets Body,' 'I Will Follow You Into the Dark,' and 'Brothers on a Hotel Bed' are the best.  'I Will Follow You Into the Dark' is ridiculous.  I had made a promise to myself that I would stop buying music that I knew would be overly romantic, but this song is perfect.  And it's nice to appreciate that something is spectacular and not get all bent out of shape about it.  So that's nice. Also amazingly nice is 'Lifeblood' by Manic Street Preachers, which I finally ordered.  They still haven't released it here, but I got it on half.com so I'm satisfied.  It's really amazing.  I put it on for the first time while I was eating breakfast and I wasn't blown away -- it's a little glossy or something, but I think that's what they were going for.  "Elegiac pop music." 'Solitude Sometimes Is' and 'Fragments' are 100% ridiculously gorgeous.  If they never tour America again, I will consider my life unlived. 2005-10-03 04:24:32 GMT http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/93 i LOVE me some Miami Ink.  It's on right now so I thought I would write my first post about it.  I don't have any tattoos but I'm kind of obsessed with looking at them, just pictures of them even, and I am completely obsessed with watching someone do a tattoo.  I want one like a mother, but Rod Blagojevich says I'm a few http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/84 i LOVE me some Miami Ink.  It's on right now so I thought I would write my first post about it.  I don't have any tattoos but I'm kind of obsessed with looking at them, just pictures of them even, and I am completely obsessed with watching someone do a tattoo.  I want one like a mother, but Rod Blagojevich says I'm a few months too young for one.  Unless I want to drive to Indiana.  Which I don't.  I drove to Indiana to get my eyebrow pierced because they only charge $10.  That should have been my first hint.  The damn thing grew right out of my head in a couple of months. But I've spent the last couple of years thinking about getting a tattoo, so I'm sure...I hope...that when I finally decide to go get one, I won't be pissed at myself afterwards.  Go pain! and vanity! 2005-09-21 04:04:48 GMT http://www.minddeposit.com/oldsouls401/viewidea/84
