I believe titles should come later-- in writing, relationships and when characterizing someone.
I wouldn't announce that I was going to commit robbery. I would wear a mask, but not a mask of a President- I think that would be disrespectful. I would want the victim to think it was an alien, so maybe I would wear an alien mask.
We've all been scammed or betrayed. You can steal all of those things, but people generally know who the good ones are and who the bad ones are. Usually everyone knows the reputation of a scammer, so when they tell a story, people suspect fabrication. We have the ability to build consistent good or bad credibility in our character which no one can break except yourself. Those who believe rumors or second hand information without finding out for themselves have their own problems.
